The Heart,
our only key
to the beyond;
what we can not see.

No man living
Has not been blessed
with this instrument,
That rests perfectly
Within our chests.

Our heart ignites, all our passion,
Propells our loves, and need for compassion;
It's like an antenna, for our mind
a powerful live-wire, directly inside.

Without the heart, we cannot comprehend
Why our world around us, seems never to bend.
And how we can look, in someone elses' eyes;
And feel judgment and hate, with absolute surprise.

Without the heart, the mind lies.

Secretary logic and presidential gloat
Can not comprehend, the unspoken rote
The very second, out spill our words
Power of heart diminishes,
with "he said"
"she thought it was hers"

So, If we all have this Heart-Gift
How can we respond to each other with space and with riff,
In the ways that we've known, up
until here
Ignoring our heart, will lead us to fear.

I want to listen carefully,
Closer to my core
In anger and sadness,
I must realize no more,
The necessary pain, cerebral causes
Second guess none,
Cut the losses.
