A Fix

I try to open my eyes;
to taste the honey, smell the jasmine
In all it's wonder and surprise.
As I sleepwalk through; rummage and pill
I take little bits, for an easy cheap thrill.

Never enough anymore;
every step, such a chore.
Temporary gain, temporarily fulfills
for a moment though, it feels Beverly Hills.

But I know the wait, as long as it may take
is the ultimate treasure, awaiting my plate.

So I plant a seed, or three or two;
on my head and in my heart
and wait for my cue.
A dive into a process, of the never ending start
but renewal is blank canvas, begging for art.

To the end, it's back to the beginning
no rest at all for the faint, or the weak and unwilling.
What do we do with laziness and lax?
Push to push ourselves, beyond and to our max.

In logic, it's simple;
a welcome capitulation.
An end to a fowl;
My soul on probation.
It's a mathematical reprise;
enough will never suffice,
so the challenge really...
is just to get busy and try.

Guessing games, make for long mind tricks
you think you know what'll happen,
but that's not ours to fix.
Now is here.
It won't be for long.
A wake from a haze,
a call to be strong.
